Biomass
Biomass is a renewable source of energy for plants and animals
Biomass, a renewable organic material that come from plant and animal life. This is the single most important source of the total annual energy consumption in the United States, until the mid-1800's. This is still an important fuel in many countries, mainly for cooking and heating in developing countries. In many developed countries, the use of biomass for transportation and electricity generation, it is becoming more and more like a way to prevent the carbon dioxide emissions from burning fossil fuels. In 2020, the biomass with about 5 quadrillion British thermal units (Btu), and about 5% of the total primary energy consumption in the United States of america.
The biomass resources include ?????????? the chemical energy of the sun. The plants produce biomass through photosynthesis. The biomass can be burned directly for heat or be converted into renewable liquid and gaseous fuels and by property.
The sources of biomass energy are:
Fuel wood and wood waste, firewood, pellets, and wood and furniture in the sawdust and wood waste and scrap, as well as the black liquor from the pulp and paper industry
Agricultural crop waste, maize (corn), soya sauce, sugar, herbs, wood, plants, and algae, as well as the remains of the food industry, and agriculture
The biomass flow in the normal household waste, paper, cotton fabric and wool yarn products, food, yard, and wood waste
Animal and human excreta, waste water

The conversion of biomass-to-energy
The biomass is converted into energy by means of a variety of processes, including the following:
The direct combustion of combustion for the generation of heat and
Thermochemical conversion process for the production of solid, gas and liquid fuels
The chemical conversion to liquid fuel production
The biological transformation for the production of liquid and gaseous fuels
Direct combustion is the most common method for the conversion of biomass into usable energy. All of the biomass that can, and should, be used directly for heating and heating of water for industrial heat production, and for the instagram generation in a steam turbine.
Thermochemical transformation of biomass include pyrolysis, and gasification. Both of the thermal decomposition processes of raw biomass is heated in a closed container under pressure, the so-called gasifiers, when the temperature is high. They are different from each other in the process of being on the temperature and the amount of oxygen in the conversion process.
Pyrolysis involves heating of organic materials up to about 800 900oF (400-500 ° C), with an almost complete absence of free oxygen. Fast pyrolysis of biomass to produce fuels, such as coal, biomass, oil, renewable diesel fuel, methane, and hydrogen.
Hydrotreating is also used for the treatment of biomass, oil (for INSTAGRAM) intake), with hydrogen at high temperature and pressure in the presence of a catalyst for the production of renewable diesel, renewable fuels, and renewable jet fuel.
Gasification involves heating of organic matter to the 1400-1700 ° C temperature (800-900 ° C), and the injection of controlled amounts of oxygen and / or steam to a ship for the production of carbon monoxide and hydrogen–rich gas, called syngas, or syngas. Syngas can be used as a fuel for diesel engines and for heating and to generate electricity in gas turbines. It can also be used for separation of hydrogen from the gas, and the hydrogen can be burned or used in fuel cells. Syngas can be further processed for the production of liquid fuels using the Fischer-Tropsch process.
The chemical conversion process, known as perestroika, which is used for the conversion of vegetable oils, animal fats, and greases into fatty acid methyl esters (FAME), which can be used for the production of bio-diesel.
